MISSION STATEMENT

The Mission of Edmonton Grace Manor is to provide a home in a Christian environment for persons who require assistance with the activities of daily living and/or residential care and to demonstrate the love of God, as exemplified by our Lord Jesus Christ, in the manner in which we serve.

Our Mission is, in particular, to persons with limited financial resources, without regard to race, ethnic origin, religion, colour or gender.

Our programs are designed to provide accomodation and care for those requiring supportive living services and/or Mental Health support, as well as those who simply need accomodation.

Our Mission also includes providing support and encouragement to the families and loved ones of our residents.

  • Our aim is to provide accomodation where our residents feel safe, valued and at home; where their privacy and dignity are respected and where they have choices compatible with their physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs and their preferences.
  • We recognize that Grace Manor is part of several larger communities and we are committed to cooperate with local residential and business organizations, as well as with provincial social health care agencies and with the world-wild Salvation Army

Grace Manor's Mission is part of the larger mission of The Salvation Army, Canada and Bermuda Territory, which is to share the love of Jesus Christ, meet human needs and be a transforming influence in the world.

Vision looks inwards and becomes duty,

Vision looks outwards and becomes aspiration.

Vision looks upwards and becomes faith.

The great thing… is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving

We believe in the uniqueness and value of every individual and that all persons should be treated with respect and dignity, regardless of their physical or mental abilities, social status or position within Grace Manor’s organizational structure.

We believe in the concept of teamwork and believe that residents and their families as well as the members of our staff have a valuable role to play in daily life at Grace Manor and a valuable contribution to make to its smooth operation and management.

We believe that it is the combined role of Management and Staff to provide a cheerful, family oriented, safe environment for our Residents, responding to their needs in a sensitive and caring manner and with respect for their dignity and privacy.

We believe in involving the resident in his/her own care, promoting the highest possible level of independence and offering choices consistent with their needs, preferences, abilities and available resources.

We believe in establishing, maintaining and promoting harmonious relationships among staff, residents and their families.

We believe in being sensitive to the needs and preferences of the communities we serve, which include the internal community of residents, their families and our staff, as well as the external community in which Grace Manor is geographically located.

We believe in establishing and promoting a harmonious and co-operative working relationship with other social, religious and healthcare agencies and with all levels of government.

We believe in working within the framework of our parent organization, The Salvation Army, which has a broader ministry, motivated by the same spirit of Christian love and compassion.
